At Tampa Jiu Jitsu, We specialize in teaching Basic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Our Gracie Basics Program is the safest and most effective way of learning Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
What makes Tampa Jiu Jitsu different is the way we teach. Our certified instructors are trained in serving students in an organized,  patient, technical, Supportive and passionate manner so as to share the best Jiu Jitsu and most informative.

The Gracie Basics curriculum was designed by the owner of Balance Studios, Phil Migliarese. Phil has been teaching beginners for nearly twenty years and he believes that the current Gracie basics program is perfect for anyone of any size, no matter if you are “in shape” or “out of shape”.

Advanced/Intermediate program

The Advanced curriculum encompasses study of both the traditional and evolution techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and is designed to expedite the student’s journey to becoming a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.

The “Balance Teaching Method” gives students focused, organized and informed instruction on the path to their Black Belt, while emphasizing that Jiu-Jitsu education should be fun, motivating, and easy.

Jiu Jitsu Private Sessions

Jiu Jitsu private sessions are for beginners looking to learn the basics at their own pace or the advanced fighter looking to work on specific techniques.  Private sessions are $75/hr. and can be booked by contacting Ryan at ryan.deichert@mac.com.

Ryan Deichert’s Bio

Ryan Deichert has been studying and training Jiu Jitsu for over 20 years. He began his training in Philadelphia and then decided to move to Los Angeles to train with legendary Royce Gracie at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA. For 6 years, Ryan participated in a very rigorous teacher training program at the Gracie Academy with Grand Master Helio Gracie. To augment his training Ryan trained with other well-known BJJ artists in the LA area. During his time at the Gracie Academy, Ryan won several tournaments and in-house competitions.

Currently, he lives in Tampa, Florida and is the Head Instructor of Tampa Jiu-Jitsu.  Ryan is a Balance Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt from Phil Migliarese.  His classes are professional and well-organized. This allows for maximum learning and progress for each student.
